“Past Realities” for Big Band

Incredible composer and arranger Dan West has done an arrangement of one of my originals “Past Realities” for big band. The original version is recorded with a small orchestra but after playing several of Dan’s arrangements and original works for big band, I was inspired to turn over this composition for Dan to transform and reimagine for big band. A bit of Dan’s Bio:

West's charts were regularly featured with the legendary CSUN Jazz A band under the direction of Joel Leach. He combines his love of both standards and the avant-garde to create sensational, newfangled orchestrations that have  sparked the interest of both old school session players and the latest aficionados of jazz, classical, and show tunes.

Read throughs of the new music took place this March and plans to do a demo recording are in the works. I’m super excited to explore this new sound and instrumentation with such talented musicians!
